Kyon Presents.... NMB48... THE TRILOGY!!

My naming sense sucks, I know.

I realize how much you all have missed me and my posts. Honestly, I've been very busy lately, and before I knew it, HOLY HELL ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS DDDD:

So, I will make that up to you this very moment, here and NOW by bringing to your attention not one, not TWO, not THREE, but FOUR, yes FOUR members of NMB48!!

One is popular, one is a hentai, one is relatively unknown (as of this writing), and the last is being pushed by management. I'm sure the more knowledgeable of our readers can guess at least two of these, for the rest of you, get comfortable. We're going on a ride. Yippie ki-yay, motherfuckers! (I swear a lot in real life, and it carries over to my posts. Deal with it.)

First up!

Nana Yamada~!

Ah, yes. Nana. Or Baba. Or Nana-tan, as she refers to herself. Also, you may notice that she has a really high pitched voice. Not helium-addict high like Rina Shinkais, but still pretty up there.

*I tend to disregard the girl's nicknames and only learn them by their real/stage names. Just a disclaimer before I get too far into this. If you're really that interested to learn their nicknames, please check out their wiki. It lists all of the 1st gen's.

So, more about Nana! Well, first off she was part of Hello! Project's SI*NA from 2005-2009. She graduated on July 25, 2009 'to continue studies' and then joined up with the NMB train in 2010. Her younger brother is a member of Johnny's Entertainment.

Anyway, Nana is one of the shortest members in NMB, which is saying a lot because the whole group is freaking tiny. She is also the oldest, which is... Well not really that bad. She's only 19 before any of you start thinking she's middle twenties. Other members tease her about this fact by the way, oh and she has graduated. As for further studies? Well, I dunno. She is apparently in charge of... Sexiness... ? Eh? Hm... This would explain why she was the one who had to do the sexy pose practice in Doking... Interesting.

It should also be noted that she is the LEAD MC for their weekly news segment on Ohayo Asahi Desu. She is literally in every episode, with the other two members rotating out. I would recommend this show to everyone, not for the information it presents on the girls, but for the laughs. Watching them donning full firefighting gear and running exercises, or seeing them join the SDF (Self-Defense Force) is just a bucket of laughs.

Nana is also known as the least fashionable of the group, just for her preference of jeans and t-shirt combinations. Personally, I find that appealing myself. Some of those crazy Japanese fashions are just... out there.

Personal interests... Hm.... Well, apparently she was a member of the volleyball club, and plays very well. Check out Docking48 ep 16 for the visual proof. IMO, she's not half-bad. I say this from personal experience. Three sisters and a mother all played through high school, into college and still continue to coach high school to this day.

Other interests are; Sports! She really likes sports. Volleyball, as I've mentioned earlier, is her number one. Her number two, I couldn't make out what the hell she was saying for the life of me, so here's the video link. Number three was soccer. She doesn't know any of the rules and just likes watching... :\

Personal opinion; I think she's adorable, in a dorky way. She is awesome at the variety shows, although she's a bit of a coward towards the more outgoing things, yet she still does them. I also feel she is an excellent performer. Her dancing is spot on, the singing (as far as I can tell) is good too.

MOMOKA KINOSHITA~!

Behold, the face of your DOOM.

Mother of God, I don't even know where to start with this girl.

A few quick facts, while I try to work out how I want to portray her:

She is 14 years old. DOB: 02/06/1997

From Hyogo Prefecture.

151cm tall, still one of the shortest members.

Hobbies: Drawing, Cosplay, Anime.

She is good friends with Koyanagi Arisa.

Okay, so one of these facts should have stood out to you readers. Hint: COSPLAY. ANIME.

Yes, this girl is a wota. And oh boy is she a wota. I cannot even begin to fathom the depths of her devotion. She enjoys playing anime songs on the piano, is a member of the NMB Otaku trio (as mentioned in my first post with Mayu!) and regularly cosplays for Handshake events. And she goes all out for these too. Full wig, costume, etc. And owns her own maid costume, which she sported on the recent Naniwa Nadeshiko Ep17! I won't spoil anything about that episode, but I highly suggest you all download and watch it to get a small glimpse at this girl in action.

Some of you may recall her from Star Hime, as the bumbling audtionee who was placed behind Miyuki. She was wearing what I'm assuming, were gym clothes and had a twin-tail hair style. She even got interviewed by the camera for a few minutes. Well, according to those clips that included her, it would've been apparent to anyone that she was not particularly skilled at dancing. But something must have caught the judge's attention because she stayed, and I am so happy about that fact.

This girl is NMB48's lethal weapon and should be regarded as such. Personally, I think she out-otakus any 48 members before her, and quite possibly after. Read some of her blog entires, she is quite vocal about everything she likes, and does not hesitate to use words all other idols would omit. To put it bluntly, I am SHOCKED Staff-sans have not banned her from using some of these words, aka: She refers to herself as the 'KimoRanger' which apparently translates to 'disgusting ranger'. Referring to her wota/otaku activities I'd wager.

Personal Opinion: I like this girl. A lot. She was one of the first I ever noticed when the full member list was first released (It's because I'm a lolicon and zero in on the youngest members first, I'm not ashamed to admit it) but I lost track of her for a few months while I disregarded NMB at first. So happy I got back into them. WATCH out for this girl. She is dynamite.

I'm going to slow down a bit for this next one though, and introduce a 2nd Gen member.

Riko Otani

Birthdate: December 11, 1996

Birthplace: Nara, Japan

Height: 149cm

Favorite food: Sweets, ice cream, strawberries, tomatoes (gross)

Siblings: Older brother, she's the youngest!

Well, I'll be honest. Even I know next to nothing about this girl, LOL. She is adorable, just looking at the pictures, but I've yet to see her in action. I blame that mostly on the lack of 2nd Gen LODs and the overall lack of NMB48 Stage LODs. Hopefully that problem shall be rectified presently, but I can only hope.

I've heard it mentioned that her dancing was horrible during the auditions/practice for 2nd Gen debut, but I'm not sure WHERE to find that. My LR *loli-radar* points me towards Star Hime episodes, but I don't have all of them. If anyone reading this can help out, please comment and share with others. Remember, sharing is caring.

But don't let her diminutive size and innocent looks fool you! This girl has been a practitioner of KENDO from the young age of FIVE and holds her first rank! You read that right, this idol can whup your ass with a wooden stick, leaving you all kinds of black and blue.

Personally, I look forward to seeing more of this girl in the future. Hopefully she gets to show case her Kendo skills. So far she is the only girl in the 48 family, that I know of, who actually does the sport (There is speculation that Rena Matsui does this too, but I disagree. You know who you are).

It's ERIKO JO~!

Ah, yes. One of my favorite 2nd Gen girls. Of course, the massive push she gets isn't all for nothing. Apparently, she wow'd the judges, Jurina-Level wow'd I mean. That says a lot because she is younger, by a year, and already exudes talent apparently.

Basic Facts!

Birthplace: Hyogo Prefecture

Height: 150cm

Favorite Animals: Dogs, rabbits, and cats.

Favorite Colors: Light blue and pink.

I'm not sure what her favorite food is. I imagine something sweet, but who cares really. Not like I'll ever be buying food for her :b

Hobbies: Gymnastics and Kendo! Holy crow! Another kendo girl?! She is also first rank, and has a medal from gymnastics. For what exactly... I'm not sure! But impressive nonetheless.

This girl is like my little ray of sunshine. Seriously, her smile brightens up anyone's day no matter how bad they're feeling. It's like staring at kittens and rainbows. No use resisting it. In fact, as I'm typing this I have a big, shit-eating grin on my face, hahah.

So, she's sporty, you all understand that. She is also a huge baby. SERIOUSLY. Naniwa Nadeshiko ep12, she gets the Dr. Foot treatment, and not two seconds into it she is quite literally balling her eyes out. High pitched squeals, tears, EVERYTHING. It's hard to even consider she's faking it with how real she sounds. That's not all either! She also cries her eyes out in Docking48 ep28, during the Roller Coaster challenge. It's... Quite the sight to see. Highly recommended. She seems to hold her own just fine in the Naniwa episodes she appears in, acts quite naturally IMO.

It would seem that members have been asked to bring in pictures from their early childhood (ages 3-6 or so) for something yet to be revealed, at least to me. Anyway, Eriko showed everyone her baby picture and the comments all boiled down to this:

"Hasn't changed at all"

LOL

Eriko was confused, writing in her blog "What'd they say? What hasn't changed???" Hahah, she's too cute. Ah, for their 2nd single OMG she was named the Akagumi's Captain for the 1st NMB swim competition. IMO, they only did that due to the September Incident that bumped Miyuki and Rina Kondou from the main song and suspended fellow members Akari Yoshida and Shiori Matsuda. However, she did well in her role. At least as well as would be expected from a new-comer thrust into the spot light, apart from the beginning of the video (where her jaw is hanging open LOL, too cute!). Her match-up against Sayaka was a little lopsided (In fact, the teams themselves were incredibly mismatched. WTF staff?!) so, predictably, she lost.

Anyway, this wraps up the Third entry into the NMB series. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I hated writing all this crap. This'll teach me for missing two weeks.
